Fine Balance records was originally established back in late 1995 by Casey Tucker (formally of Richie Hawtin & John Acquaviva's Plus-8 records.) Vinyl EP's followed in 1996 and 1997 before label operations were put on hold early in 1998. The Fine Balance name remained active however and from the ashes of the label Fine Balance Productions was formed as a self contained production and re-mixing unit. Specialising in music production, re-mixing, web design and media, Fine Balance were also active in the then new UK underground Garage scene with a number of official and unofficial remixes and 'dub plates' being churned out between 1997 - 2005. In May 2006 the limited edition album, 'Tales Of A first Generation Raver' was released. The album, which was several years in the making, was an experiment in UK urban dance combining funky UK Garage beats with the likes of Drum n Bass, Detroit Techno, Chicago House and Acid House. 2007 Sees Fine Balance recordings officially re-launched as a digital only label, specialising in cutting edge underground House and Electronica for the download and CD markets. The artist roster continues to expand with new signings to be unveiled in the near future.
