Rip Records was established in 1998 in memory of Scott Latham, a talented record producer and DJ who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1996. Scott's parents, Chris and Graham, along with the help of his fellow musicians and friends created Rip Records and The Cable Chamber recording studios as a lasting memorial to an immensely gifted (both as a musician and person) individual. Scott was signed to Network Records in Stoke-on-Trent and worked on a range of different projects from Hip-Hop to Deep House. Scott worked under many guises such as Madagascar, Erectomundo, Aquarel, Tarrentella, Sherwood, Phoenix and Phatback to name but a few. His music can be found on labels like Network, Six by Six, Dansa, Ruff Def, Whoop!, Mousetrap and Solid Silver Recordings. Rip Records is based on a collective of 'real' people working together to make great music with genuine heart and soul.
