The Sessions Recordings exist since 2004. Label honcho C-Jay started the label back in those days, cause he wanted to have total freedom in what to make and when to release it, whilst trying to get the attention of the bigger labels.
Well, as most of you know by now that pretty much succeeded. In other words, C-Jay doesn't need the label anymore to be creatively free, as he can do pretty much what he wants on other labels. But on the other hand, it would be a shame not doing anything anymore with the label, as it had a grown a good reputation in only a short while.
Therefore, C-Jay decided to continue the label in 2006 on a digital only basis. As (legal) digital downloads are pretty much sure to be the future in music distribution, this might be a good idea...
Anyhow, the label will be about 3 things:
1. Special edits and remixes of C-Jay tunes, that will be available digitally only. Exclusive stuff so to say.
2. Tunes that C-Jay looks out for in his role as an a&r manager. As a dj / producer he gets send a lot of stuff that is just plain damn good material. Hot talents, that just need to get a break on a decent label, to make a start in releasing their stuff to the world.
3. C-Jay tunes that will never be on vinyl but only available as exclusive downloads.
And finally: the label will be managed by world renowned UK based Critical Rhythm Label Management! This means that The Sessions Recordings will benefit of years of experience of this management group, that includes labels like Baroque, Method, Plastik Park, Nascent and Climax.
So watch out for the first releases!
