KUBIKS BIOGRAPHY:
Making a name for himself since 1997, Kubiks has continued to make his mark on the scene with his worldwide DJ sets, releases on BS1, Industry, Tangent and his own label 'Rubik Records'. In addition to his manic schedule Kubiks has managed to run one of Bristol most enduring Drum & Bass nights, The Rubiks Cube (www.rubiks-kube.com).
Influenced by the seminal movement that was 70's soul, jazz and funk, his productions have exuded the musical feel of the genre he was inspired by. Silky rhodes keys, lush pads and dreamy soundscapes define his style. Recently his pairing with Davide Carbone has attracted the attention of the biggest names in the scene and received big play from the likes of Fabio, DJ Hype and Bukem.
In 2004 Kubiks has had some major attention in the Drum & Bass scene with a number of great reviews in DJ Mag, Knowledge, ATM, IDJ and support from many key players in the scene like, Suv, Holdtight, Fabio, Bukem to mention a few.
With forthcoming releases on several established labels including defunked, BS1 and Industry, alongside his busy DJ schedule, record label and club night duties, Kubiks is set to establish himself as a major player of 2004 and beyond.
DAVIDE CARBONE BIOGRAPHY 2004
One of the first DJs to introduce techno and acid in to Australia Davide went on to form the successful electronic act Future Sound Of Melbourne (FSOM). Contracts from Frank De Wulf, Carl Cox and Jeff Mills and supporting performances for Bjork, Tricky and the Prodigy followed. Two weekly radio shows on prime time Australian radio and an incessant DJ roster ensured Davide had the platform in which to launch his international career from.
In 1996 Davide received an Australian Recording Industry Award (ARIA) for Best Australian Dance Release and subsequently performed in many of Australias top festivals and events. This culminated in his three hour performance at the 1999 Roskilde Festival in Denmark at which point he relocated to England.
Since arriving in the UK he has signed a recording contract with Resist Music in London and started the now established BS1 Records. Over 10 releases and several contributions to many compilation CDs later his highlights have included a top five placing in the official UK dance singles chart, top 100 in the overall UK singles chart and appearances in the BBC Radio One chart and the Fabio and Grooverider Five Mighty Rollers chart.
Davide has been featured in much of the UKs music press including features, articles and reviews in Mix Mag, DJ, Muzik, Knowledge, IDJ, ATM, Touch and Jockey Slut. His tunes have been supported by many of the biggest names in the industry including Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, Hype, Trace and Suv and he continues to impress with his production skills and variety of releases. His recent BS1 Records cover CD for Knowledge Magazine further established the BS1 imprint as a major D&B player.
His up and coming releases for record labels including BS1, Industry, Resist, Rubik, Renegade and now Defunked will help solidify Davides continued presence as a an international DJ and producer.
