Mike Brin is part of the new wave of producers to develop over the coming year. His first nod of approval came from the likes of Omid Nourizadeh (16B) and Desyn Masiello, where Brin made a remix of Colours which eventually found its way on Hernan Cattaneos Renaissance compilation. Following this, hes been continually working to build his repetoire, and in the beginning of 2006 hes had already 10 works signed to various labels. This EP here showcases Mike Brin at his finest, with the A side being titled, That Strange Planet. This is a progressive gem that has been doing the rounds among those who have been sent the promo copies, and support is coming in from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Matthew Dekay, etc. The B side is titled, Frustrated Cargo, and has an extremely intricate chord structure, with several layers of melody that fall over a pumping baseline. Arguably Mikes finest work to date, Frustrated Cargo, is without question an excellent piece of work and something that progressive house fans will be sure to enjoy.
